I had a difficult time getting into the book.

The parts with all the beasts in the circus gave me a bad feeling. It’s difficult to describe. Not gross necessarily, but I did not like hearing about that. Maybe a feeling of disgust. I’m not sure why.
The overall plot and prose was maybe too fanciful for my tastes. It felt like a fairy tale. Interesting, but I guess not the book for me.
